Kids and Credit Cards

No, not that my little one wants a credit card with a high credit limit of her own, she just want to have a credit card to put on her wallet. I gave her some of mine, the old ones but my sister gave her an Angry Birds credit card! haha so cute!

It’s not an rfid credit card but it looks so real that kids who will receive it wouldn’t notice! Looking for a Christmas stocking filler? Buy this one! Perfect for the Becky Bloomwood wanna-be’s out there :)

Excited for the Little Mermaid Experience

For a mom with very little funds for extras, it is quite impossible to bring kid, more so her whole family to the nearest Disneyland -and  in our case, it’s Disneyland Hong Kong.

I was so glad that part of their field trip was to watch Mickey and the gang in the recent Disney live in Araneta Coliseum, at least I only paid for hubby’s ticket :) Part of my short term goals is to bring my kids to Disneyland while they’re young so at least they could appreciate it. But since I don’t have the budget yet, it’s either to bring them to Disney live or Disney Ice in Araneta or download Disney movies galore using youtube video downloader LOL

Just imagine my glee when I learned that Atlantis Productions will produce Little Mermaid with Rachelle Ann Go and Erik Santos as lead actors! Oh my gulay!

So tonight, the little girl and I will be watching Little Mermaid at the Meralco theater. She’s been listening to the whole sound track so she could sing with them later :)

Will post post-event photos later :)

Preparing Kids Early for the Real World

How do you prepare your kids to face the real world? Is good education enough? After school, how can we be so sure that they will have the kind of life that we want for them? Aside from the things they’ll learn in school, isn’t it just right and practical to teach them life skills – things that they should understand and learn in the real world, things as simple as house chores. There’s nothing wrong with Beverage/Sommelier Jobs, right? But it’s not something that we want for our kids, we want something better. Ideally, that is. But what if our kids’ destiny is towards this line? Isn’t it just right to prepare them this early?

1st Birthday video

I finally found Yona’s first birthday video! but unfortunately it’s in format that we can use – it’s in raw format! I really want to see her 1st birthday video.

I know there are services around like dvd duplication, video conversion from raw files to DVD, old formats like betamax-VHS to DVD, and more. Where can I find these kind of services?

Any idea will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Why don’t I have that?

How am I going to teach my daughter how to appreciate what she has? She is thankful okay but one incident made her ask us “Why don’t I have that?”

During their field trip last week, Yona’s classmates brought most of their gadgets like PSP and DS while she has her good ol’ iTouch 4th gen. She was so upset because she was the only one who has it! Told her that iTouch is way, way, way, better than PSP or DS combined and that she should be thankful. But… she hated being different :( Good thing no one brought their Wii or xbox kinect LOL

I no longer want to discuss what features make her gadget better than her classmates because for sure she wouldn’t want to hear any of it.

*sigh*

Who will I be this Halloween, mommy?

Di ko masagot.

Halloween is just a few days away yet I still don’t know what my kids will be wearing. One of my online mommy friends already posted her daughter’s costume, adding more guilt to me.

There are lots of ideas online but I want her to wear something more comfy and please no more princess, fairies and any cutesy patootsy costume this time. I would never let her wear something sexy like a nurse lingerie either, LOL!

Any ideas, mommies? Please share.

TIA!

Growing Up So Fast

My youngest princess is growing up so fast! She turned a month old on October 4 we celebrated it with a simple dinner with the whole family.

At 1 month she can now move her head from side to side, kicks so hard and would try to control her neck and head. Sooner or later she’s be crawling hence the need for activity playmats and alloc laminate flooring.

Will update you on her progress every month :)

Dental Problems at 6

Yona’s two front teeth got broken when she was one. Blame it to the OC mom and the thread of dental floss. She’s now 6 and eager to see all her teeth replaced with new ones. Some of her classmates already lost most of their baby teeth so she’s wondering why she still has hers.

I have been telling her not to worry too much as it will come off in due time but she’s still worried sick about it. Told her that for as long as she’s keeping it clean and having her annual dental check-up, her permanent teeth will be fine. She has a very nice and accommodating dentist by the way who owns a shop with discount dental supplies so we really like her.

How about you, how young were your kids when they lost their milk teeth?

McDonald’s Celebrates 30 Years of Magic in the Philippines!

The long wait is almost over! McDonald’s celebrates 30 years of magic in the Philippines with its first ever, simultaneous 4-store re-opening tomorrow, September 30.

McDonald’s Makati Cinema Square, Greenhills, North Avenue, and Quezon Avenue will once again open its doors to customers, now bearing new modern designs setting the tone for the next 30, 60, 90 years of McDonald’s in the country. Each of the 4 McDonald’s anniversary stores will give eager customers more reasons to say “love ko ‘to” with stylish furniture, colorful interiors, and dynamic graphics that perfectly suit the tastes and style of the modern Pinoy. Not to mention freebies and giveaways for customers all day long!

So visit McDonald’s anniversary stores on September 30 and join the celebration of three decades of great-tasting food, excellent service, and, now, a whole new kind of dining experience only at McDonald’s.

*************************************

My daughter and I are both McDonald’s lovers and we’d eat there everyday if they’re serving healthy foods but it’s still fast food so for the fear of getting obese and undergoing an hcg weight loss program, I only allow us to eat there once a week =)

Happy 6th Birthday, Princess!

My little princess just turned 6 last September 11. I cannot fathom the idea that the little baby inside my tummy then is now a little lady.

She did have a small party for a few friends, thanks to my family who prepared all the dishes for her and her visitors. I was busy that day with orders plus I was still recuperating from my C-section operation. On top of that I was occupied with tasks and one was to compare term life insurance plans which was really annoying as I have to call and email each reliable insurance plan company we have here in the Philippines.

Happy Birthday little Yoe!

We love you so much!
